Barry & Sarah Slater · Le Châble, Valais

We chose this valley.
Then we built something in it.

ActiveFusion is not a rental company. It is what happens when two people with careers in performance, coaching, and wellbeing decide to put down roots somewhere extraordinary.

Our story

How we got here

We first came to Le Châble the way most people do — as guests. We left the way some people do — convinced that this was where we wanted to build something. Within a few years, Chalet Aigle existed. Then the Studio. Now Chalet Kestrel is in planning.

What we built wasn't just accommodation. It was a base for a different kind of life — one that combines the Alpine environment we love with the professional disciplines we spent decades developing: human performance coaching, yoga, and the genuine care that comes from hosting people in your own home.

Every guest who stays with us is a direct relationship. Every person we advise on Valais property gets our honest perspective, not a sales pitch. Every wellness programme we design is genuinely bespoke. That's not a marketing position — it's just how we work.

Human performance · Property · Co-founder

Barry brings two decades of executive-level experience to ActiveFusion — both as a practitioner of human performance optimisation and as someone who has lived the demands of high-stakes professional life from the inside. His work through Physiology First is grounded in science: physiological assessment, recovery protocol design, and performance coaching that treats the body and mind as an integrated system.

Sarah is a certified yoga teacher who has made the Alps her studio. She teaches in English, French, and Dutch — which reflects the international community she has built around her practice in the Bagnes valley over years of living here year-round. Her approach is rooted in genuine practice: mindful movement, breathwork, and instruction that meets people where they actually are rather than where a class format expects them to be.

"We don't just host people here. We live here — and that makes all the difference."

The Bagnes valley is not a backdrop for us — it is where we shop, eat, raise our children, and spend our weekends. That lived familiarity is what makes our advice on property, wellness, and the valley itself genuinely different from anything you'd get from someone who visits seasonally.

Guests in Chalet Aigle
How we host

Guests become regulars

The Chalet Aigle library has seen a lot of evenings like this — people who came as strangers to a rental property and ended the week with plans to return. That's not by accident. It's the result of a house that is genuinely lived in, hosts who are actually present, and a setting that draws people together.

When something needs to be sorted, we sort it. When someone wants a restaurant recommendation, they get the one we actually go to. That directness is what our reviews consistently mention.

Why Le Châble

Not the resort. The valley.

Most people come to Verbier. We came to Le Châble — the village at the base of the gondola, 10 minutes from the resort, a fraction of the price, and entirely genuine. It has a bakery, neighbours who wave, and a sense of place that a ski resort cannot manufacture.

We live here because we chose to, not because we had to. That choice is what makes all the difference — as hosts, as coaches, and as guides to anyone wanting to understand this valley properly.
